The following chart lists the minimum ages for official health screenings by the various health registries.

* The reliability of PennHip improves as the dog is older.   Waiting until 1 year of age is common.

 #There is no minimum age for the OFA CAER Eye exam; however, due to vestigial tissue that may need time to dissolve, waiting until 1 year of age is common.  

+ The OFA recommends re-testing "Normal" results as some issues have variable age onset.   Re-tests should be spaced apart by at least one year.
